So I went in for my interview this afternoon. The boss is a very nice person who came straight to the point. She said, ” this job application had 90 applicants, of which 12people were shortlisted. Of the 12, only 6 people had seniority and we are only interviewing those 6″ (and I was one of the 6)
Then she went on to say, “You know that we have to award this job to the person with the highest seniority. That person has been here 10 years”
(I have been there 3)
“BUT”, she went on to say, “The person might NOT decide to take the job which is why we are interviewing you..”
So I will know by next week.
I do know that as they have reduced the job by an hour, it is not QUITE as “plummy” a position as heretofore. PLUS the wage is not MUCH higher than what I get now.
Budget cuts, you know.
But how else does one, “break into”, the department. You need experience for the higher level jobs, but how can you get experience if you can’t even achieve the entry level positions?
They do it by being persistent like you are! You will get there, Merri. Hang in there!
thanks dear Teeni! Just having a “moan”..lol
I will!
((hugs))
Fingers crossed – and definitely “hang in there”.
thanks Hannah!
((hugs))
how frustrating; but I hope for you!
Yes, I know it is the way things are but it is…
many thanks! ((hugs))
