We had my mom and sister over for lunch today. It was good as it meant that my sis could drive Mom over and take her back. This REALLY saved us time (and gas)
H and I decided to make it easy for ourselves so just ordered a couple of dishes from our fav Chinese restaurant to go and made some rice. Hey presto, lunch!
They arrived right on time which was nice, as was the whole event.
My sis hadn’t seen our place since forever and was interested to see the renos we had had done. We did a comprehensive tour and she was suitably impressed.
Mom was more interested in the food and tucked in. She SAYS that she hasn’t a big appetite but ate well and interestingly had room for biscuits and tea afterwards.
GLAD that we did this today as it means we can relax for the rest of the weekend.
Hope that everyone is getting to enjoy THEIR weekend and if they are getting the extra day, getting extra fun and rest!
H has had a sore shoulder for some time. He had overdone it while at the gym and as shoulders tend to be VERY difficult areas, it didn’t really get better even though he rested it and applied ice and or heat. VERY frustrating and tiring for him AND for me as I hated to see him suffer. I had sympathized and empathized but as in anything could not lead him to get help for his pain.
I personally go to my chiropractor when I hurt; he is a gem. He is the reason I stay able to do my job and the main impetus for my continued faithful attendance at the gym and pool.
H has been to him, but this time was more stubborn, thinking that he could cure himself
Finally H decided that he would like to try acupuncture.
Well! You can imagine that I immediately started rummaging through my mind, and through the phone book to find a good acupuncturist. I didn’t seem to find anyone who had had acupuncture either amongst my friends nor amongst my work collegues.
Suddenly, I remembered my Tai Chi days. I had been a diligent Tai Chi advocate for many years, including when H and I first met. I loved the exercise and the wonderful feeling of camraderie within the club.
SO, I remembered that one of my instructors (C) was now a doctor of acupuncture (he had left teaching to pursue this education).
I phoned him up and made the appointment for H.
We went for the first appointment yesterday. It was a success, in that H was favourably impressed by C; both C’s compassionate attitude and excellence in education and explanation PLUS his thoroughness all combined to make H want to go again.
Even though it was a VERY short time he had the actual acupuncture (as most of the time was spent in getting his history and a short examination); he already felt more mobility afterwards.
Hooray!
(No it is not a placebo effect; acupuncture is even performed upon animals with good results.(Animals do not have preconceived notions nor cannot be said to be influenced to believe that something will work or not)
What a wonderful woman and how fortunate these animals are, to have her care about and for them!
Mesmerizing and amazing…(good music too!)
