H called me this afternoon at work, all excited. Apparently someone phoned asking for me, and he found that it was about the job for which I had applied! (Two days ago!)
He was so excited that he wanted me to call the lady back right THEN but as she had said that she would be available until after I got home I said ,”no I will phone then”. THEN had a hard time working, as it was an hour and a half until the end of my day..lol.
Accordingly I called her when I got home and learned that they were doing, “pre screening” calls, of the applicants. I have never encountered such a thing!
The mini interview (as it was, in actuality) went fine, but the woman didn’t sound particularly pleasant. I would imagine they have had previous trouble with employees “not being suitable”; ie not doing the work or being late or who knows what.
In any case she went on to say that they were conducting interviews next week. (WEIRD as the position was not to “come down” until the 9th, according to the job information form.
I am AWAY next week(wouldn’t you know) and told her this, saying that I would be back a week Saturday.
Her response?
” Thank you and good bye!”
SOOO I don’t know if they will call me then or WHAT..lol.
