Remembrance day

The image of the aging veteran or soldier remembering his buddies with a tear rolling down his face sums up this day; the one we call Remembrance day or Veterans day depending where you live…

Remembrance_marchAlways a sad day(and even sadder as RULINGĀ  human kind just doesn’t seem to, “get” ,the message aboutĀ  the futility of war…)

But I had the day off and have spent it so far rather unprofitably.

We DID go for a nice long walk this morning though. The weather was mildish but devilishly WET; not raining but the land so saturated that puddles are starting to form on top of the grass in the park.

Flooding is not far off…our little creek/river always overflows its banks but never to the point of threatening homes or streets. It just means that we can’t safely walk beside it after a certain stage.
