So THAT is what is happening in off hours..I adore this!
(inconsequential note; I have and love those felt pens…)

I was a bit concerned as I simply have no clothes for events like wedding, even out door weddings require a certain effort to look festive.
We were doing our weekly shop at Costco where there was a display of nice sweater type dresses; Harvey started taking ones off the rack and holding them up to me, and I found a great beige one with a sort of cowl neck and blue Icelandic pattern in the neck( sounds hideous but it looks really nice on) and short sleeves, so not TOO cosy…
I had been looking at the weather for the 23; it was saying rain( HOW can they possibly predict for that far ahead) I thought the sweater dress would be good as it could be a bit chilly, especially as the venue is outside( probably they will have tents, in case of showers)
Great price too, less than $40, which is highly unusual!
So now I am set,( except, now I have no decent shoes, it is always the way)
Oh and I just checked again, NOW they say that it will be around 18( that’s 67 Fahrenheit) so I will probably be cooking…lol
!
So I had a superb day yesterday.
Harvey is a wonderful person to celebrate ones birthday with; he almost gets more fun out of it than the birthday person! He sang “Happy Birthday” to me upon awakening, and at intervals during the day and kept saying, “it’s your birthday!,” in a tone which indicated what a VERY big deal it was!
After he made breakfast, we down to the shopping centre near us where he had to do a bit of banking and I waited for him in one of our chain drugstores which has perfumes and other enticing bath products. I ended up getting some gorgeous bath gel by Crabtree and Evelyn; it has the most enticing smell but I haven’t used it YET..
Then we went to another mall where I got some lovely perfume and also some chocolate
from our wonderful Purdy’s
Now that I had been spoilt, we went to one of our favourite Chinese restaurants(this is it, was surprised to find a picture of it!)
where we had an excellent repast of sauteed spinach, beef, ginger with a big bowl of rice , of course.
Now it was time for our road trip.
Off we went up to a park/lagoon/ ocean/beach area called Witty’s lagoon.
(click on each photo for a larger view)
I took a few photos,
The one above shows the lagoon
and this one
shows the gorgeous ocean and beach. It was VERY very windy but exhilarating, and we enjoyed tramping around both sides…
Then home we went, refreshed and yet simultaneously exhausted. LOVELY!
Holiday mode is in Ernest; we cannot even remember anything of our old ( real ) life and the only concern is about the weather
Either we go to the beach or we don’t ; as a result of either it is sunny or it isn’t.
We also enjoy playing house; our place is one room.. Spacious enough for two people but it sure makes one realize what one DOESN’T need.
We have a compact galley type kitchen along one wall; it has a full sized NEW fridge which we happily filled on our our first foray to Costco, plus a full sized new stove and flat topped range. There is even a dinky little dishwasher!
We are on the 17 th floor of the condo building; have a great view of the ocean and it is really quiet, even at night.
Off to make some tea( brought it from home; don’t like American tea….)
We just got back from the beach.
It was one of those beach days which start out rather dubiously; weather wise, I mean.
When we went for our walk prior; the skies were clear and it was glorious out.
But when we got ready to go down to the beach, the skies were clouding over and by the time we got there, the heavens opened in one of the common monsoon like drenchings.
We loitered under the beachboys surfboard stand and waited while the rain pelted down, while rainbows came and went interspersed with brilliant sunshine.
Finally we hit the beach and endured two more rainstorms before it was suddenly gorgeous.
No complaints; we sunned and swam and realaxed after that….
What a life!
