competitive; moi?

I like to think that I am not OVERLY competitive but it’s hard NOT to be when playing a game like Lexulous.

For those who never frequent Facebook, this game is remarkably like Scrabble but it was it’s PREDECESSOR, Scrabulous, whose developers went through a lot of  legal troubles with the big game company Hasbro.

Luckily the ,”little,” guys, won in this case(hurrah) but some changes were made to the game as a consequence of the settlement.

ANYHOW, I am TOTALLY addicted to this game. One can play an infinite amount of  Lexulous games (for free!) at Facebook, and yours truly has a modest 15 going(mostly multiple games with a few people)

Well one or two of my opponents are VERY clever (I like to think that I am pretty clever, but yikes they are formidable) and one has scored HUGE points over me, then posting this online.

It makes me feel less than clever, I can tell you. But fear not, I will soon soar once more and be in the upper echelon of word gamers..

One can ALSO play through email, so if anyone here wants to play against me that way, just let me know. Only please don’t publish your high scores..(or I will cry..lol!)

New computer needed soon

My computer is ambling along quite well but poor H’s is not.

His still runs windows 98se which is not a bad thing but the computer is not even a pentium(It’s a CELERON, for those who know, and actually our computer guru says that it is quite a good computer, so good figure!) so is starting to have trouble when he uses it for any length of time.

We don’t go to movies; neither of us drinks or smokes and really the computers are our only source of entertainment(especially in the winter)

We were browsing around in a computer store the other day and saw a nifty little notebook for under $400; it was a good company and had oodles of ram and hard drive space. Of course the minute you buy such a machine, it is straight away out of date, but at least he could play hearts online (which he hasn’t been able to so do for many months because the site upgraded and his computer is simply not strong enough to handle it)

So we might give in, by the end of the year anyhow…

For those interested in games

I regularly visit a site that I can really recommend.

I used to visit it solely because it offered a free game (at first daily, then weekly)  and daily free software.That was the draw but I quickly became interested in visiting because of the great forum .

There the folks who have equal interest in games and software have managed to make a community that is  accepting and warm.

The address is as follows;
